The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for continuing to beg Ghanaians to become president.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated categorically that he will continue to beg the electorate to try him at the Presidency.

According to him, he sees nothing wrong with such an approach if that is what it will take for Ghanaians to give him a chance.

However, addressing a rally at Ayirebi in the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern region, Asiedu Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito mocked the NPP flag bearer saying “some other candidate [Nana Addo] is begging Ghanaians for votes to become President. He is using his mouth to beg Ghanaians for votes."

President Mahama on the other hand, “is working for votes [and] Ghanaians are voting for him based on his works and not begging Ghanaians to please try him.”

“We are not here on the try me campaign. What we are saying is that look at our works and vote for us,” he added.

Asiedu Nketia went on to urge the residents to reject the NPP since that party neglected them when they were in power.
