Former Executive Director of the MFWA and Dean of School of Communications at the Wisconsin University, Prof. Kwame Karikari has criticised the management of the Ghana Journalists Association over what he describes as the poor depiction of journalism to the public.

A poster advertising the maiden public lecture being held by the association as part of its 70th-anniversary activities had visible errors.

Many have already criticized the GJA for being negligent and ignoring such errors despite being the leader of the media fraternity in Ghana.

Speaking as one of the keynote speakers at the event, Professor Karikari said:

“I told Affail that the subject they gave to me was incomprehensible. It was incomprehensible first on the face of it and also those of you who saw the posted announcement of the topic, you’d have seen that the GJA, that was itself promoting this program, was itself showing us some of the flaws of journalism today.”

“It showed how poorly edited material in our media is today, the spelling of repositioning itself was wrong”.

The event is being held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra and has in attendance, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, and Ms. Elizabeth Ohene as the Chair.
