MPs to exercise in Parliament

Speaker of parliament, Prof. Michael Aaron Oquaye has advised members of parliament to take physical exercise seriously to help keep them fit to always perform their legislative and other duties effectively.

The speaker gave the advice this morning when he commissioned a state of the art gymnasium for parliament.

The speaker also emphasized the need for a day nursery to be established in parliament to take care of the wards of MPs as they go about their duties in parliament.

The minority leader Hon. Haruna Iddrisu described the gymnasium as a significant facility for ensuring good health for MPs.

The majority leader and minister of parliamentary affairs, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu advised MPs and staff of parliament to take full advantage of the gymnasium to remain physically fit.
