LIVE UPDATES: Final Group C games (2018 FIFA World Cup)

France take on Denmark this afternoon France take on Denmark this afternoon

Another day, another set of World Cup matches to be played as we count down to the big day where one country will lift the trophy.

The highlight of today’s fixtures is Nigeria’s game against Argentina but before that highly anticipate fixture is France vs Denmark and Australia vs Peru.

France and Denmark occupy the two top spots in Group C but will do battle this afternoon to determine which of the two nations emerge winner of the group. Denmark go into the game very much aware that at worst a draw is enough to guarantee them a place among the last 16 of the competition.

France are home and dry with six points from their opening two games but will be eyeing a win today to top the group and avert the potential of meeting Croatia in the next round.

Denmark coach Age Hareide says Denmark will be aiming for an all-out victory at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

"I know one point will be enough but that's not a good way to start the match," he said. "If you put that into your players' heads there will be passiveness in the team and that's not good.

France coach, Deschamp says they will offer Denmark no helping hand. We are not going to give them a helping hand. Our goal is to guarantee first place and two results will allow that," he said.

Australia will be chasing a slim chance of making the World Cup last 16 when they take on Peru.

For the Socceroos to qualify, they must beat Peru and hope Denmark lose by two goals or more to France to overturn the goal difference between them.

Both games kick off at 2:00pm
