LIVE UPDATES: Ghana vs Kenya (AFCON Qualifier)

The Black Stars are confident of beating Kenya this afternoon The Black Stars are confident of beating Kenya this afternoon

Hello good afternoon and welcome to the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers across the continent this weekend. This afternoon the Black Stars of Ghana will take on the Harambee Stars of Kenya in the second round of games in the qualifiers.

The Black Stars, the overwhelming favourites to top Group F didn’t make a light meal of their footballing pedigree when they brushed aside Ethiopia by scoring 5 unanswered goals. Kenya, on the other hand, were beaten 2-1 by Sierra Leone.

One will argue that due to the defeat, the Harambee Stars will approach this game as wounded lions and so the Black Stars will have to guard against complacency.

Ghana is looking to qualify for the Nations Cup for the eighth consecutive time whereas the Kenyans are looking forward to their first qualification since 2004.

The Black Stars are poised to win their fifth AFCO title in 2019 but before they can do that, they need to first qualify to the tournament to be hosted by Cameroon in June next year.
The game starts at 1pm GMT and Ghanaweb will bring you live updates. So stay with us.
