The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says the agitation, controversy, and argument surrounding the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) policy are needless.

To Mr Baako, the CSE is a global campaign for every sovereign nation to domesticate its implementation.

He said the CSE has existed in Ghana for the past 10 years and therefore signing the CSE on the international stage does not mean authorities should force it on the public.

He noted that it is incumbent on the government to tread cautiously and not be tempted into the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) agenda.

“The CSE as a global issue has been moving from different stages…even in Ghana, over the past decade at different levels, CSE is being implemented in our educational curricula minus LGBT. LGBT is repugnant or repulsive to our system,” he told Accra based Metro Television, monitored by

He said “it is holistic and comprehensive but it is incumbent on the country implementing the CSE to be guarded consistently and make sure that whatever the country domesticates does not include LGBT. Whether you are teaching a four-year-old or nine-year-old, you are still teaching sexual education and CSE is still promoted.”

He, therefore, said if the Education Ministry, as well as the Ghana Education Service, is not cautious enough, it would be trapped into promoting LGBT.

Government has come under public pressure over claims that it is seeking to execute a secret LGBT agenda through the introduction of CSE.

The guideline document for the teaching of CSE, according to religious organisations and anti-LGBT movement, has topics and modules that run counter to the moral fibre of the Ghanaian society.

Government, however, says it has not approved any such guidelines.
