Ghana and Fortuna Dusseldorf defender Kasim Adam is excited with the return of football but admits playing without fans in attendance will not make the game the same as it used to be.

Nuhu is one of the few Ghanaian players in the German top flight who could be back in action this weekend as the Bundesliga prepares to become the first top flight league to return after a long break due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Despite being keen on seeing football back after several weeks, Kasim doesn’t like playing football without the fans.

The defender even though doesn’t like playing without the fans in attendance is keen to see football back after several weeks off.

“It is very exciting to play again but one painful thing is that football is always better with fans. Playing behind closed doors will affect some of us because we have always played in front of our amazing fans,” he told Juliet Bawuah during a live conversation on Tv3‘s Instagram page.

“We are also battling relegation and we need our fans to cheer us up but we also have to understand the circumstances.”

Nuhu who joined TSG Hoffenheim last season was sent on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf after struggling to cope during his first season, but the defender is hoping the resumption of the league will help him regain his rhythm.

“It hasn’t been easy for me since I came from Switzerland to Hoffenheim. They bought me at a huge price, which I haven’t been able to repay them with a performance that I like,” he said.

“I got injured during my first few games and was out for 2 months and after returning, I wasn’t getting enough playing time so I decided to go on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf in order to get more playing time but I got injured again.

“So, coming to Germany has been too hard for me in terms of injuries. It has not allowed me to play to the level I was in Switzerland but as time goes on, I know I will get my rhythm again and make it in the Bundesliga.”

The German FA have put in place a series of measures that include separate arrival of teams, no handshakes, social distancing inside the dressing and several protocols to prevent players from the danger of contracting the virus.
