Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Joseph Ade Coker is worried about the caliber of people wanting to be Members of Parliament under the ticket of the ‘Umbrella’ party.

He said during an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie that - the August House is “not for any ordinary persons” but people with “integrity”.

“Look at the Parliament of other counties and you will know the kind of people that represent,” he said.

“Look at our Parliament, now every Tom, Dick and Harry feels they can go to Parliament. What have they done for their society?” he questioned.

Adding that, “People always say Parliament is the shortest way of making money . . . I think the system must be sanitized.”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has slated August 24, 2019, for its parliamentary primaries.

The exercise is expected to take place across all 275 constituencies in the country.
