The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), the Commercial Workers Union (ICU) together with some drivers today marched through some streets of Accra to register their displeasure with what they describe as the "persistent increase in the price of petroleum products in the country.”

Though less than ten people could be counted at the Obra Spot at 7am, when the demonstration was scheduled to begin, several people later turned up and participated in the action.

They converged at the Accra Arts Centre where organisers addressed the gathering.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service guided the protestors through the approved routes.

The group are expected to submit petitions to the Ministries of Finance and Energy, Parliament and the Office of the President.
