Scores of residents of Adum Banso in the Mpohor District of the Western Region are demonstrating against the poor state of roads in the area.

The residents numbering over 500 and wearing red armed bands have blocked the main road leading into and out of the community. Since morning no car has been able to enter the community.

Trucks belonging to the Benso Oil Palm Plantation have all been denied access. President Akufo Addo on June 10 came to the district capital to cut sod for the construction of a 15.5 kilometre road from Kejebril to Mpohor but the residents are not too pleased with the action of the President.

According to them, Adum Banso is one of the productive areas in the region hence were expecting the President to appreciate their efforts by extending the road to Adum Banso.

The residents are threatening to block the road for a week if they do not hear anything from government.
