Ghana Blind Union To Benefit From Maiden Edition Of Japan Motors/E.Tv 5km Corporate Run

Accra, September 6, 2011: The Ghana Blind Union (formerly the Ghana Association of the Blind) will soon be beneficiaries of financial support, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Japan Motors and e.tv Ghana. This September 17th, Japan Motors in conjunction with e.tv Ghana have joined heads to organize a 5km Corporate Run that is aimed at bringing different corporate institutions in Ghana together as an innovative approach to networking through a team-building physical activity. The proceeds from the event will be donated to support the Ghana Blind Union.

The two companies are collaborating to provide a unique platform to all corporate bodies to network and interact with their colleagues from other fields in a way that has never been done before.

According to Hilda Peasah, Marketing Manager at Japan Motors states, “The aim of the event is to facilitate growth within the various business communities, by introducing a different and innovative approach to networking and showcasing new products in the market. Whatever we get from this event will be used to support the Ghana Blind Union (formerly Ghana Association of the Blind).”
Starting off at 6.30am from the Silver Star tower in Accra, the walk will begin (insert the route of the run/walk)……

General Manager of e.tv Ghana, John Osei Tutu Agyeman, added that “sports and physical activities is a universal language that brings people together no matter their background or origin. The 5km Corporate Run will be beneficial to businesses and individual participants. They will get the opportunity to network with fellow corporate giants in different business sectors and also get a chance to preview what’s new on the market. E.tv Ghana is serious about contributing its quota to a healthy nation; we are even more thrilled that that we will be donating the proceeds from the event to support our visually-impaired brothers and sisters.”

According to the organizers, registration is open to all corporate institutions and individuals interested in participating in the run. Companies and individuals can register for free at Pippa’s Health Centres, Japan Motors, e.tv Ghana, Silver Star Tower (Airport City), Koala Supermarket and the Silverbird Lifestyle Store. Categories to be awarded include fastest woman, fastest man, fastest over 40, fastest over 50 and fastest corporate team (first corporate team to have five people finish).

Following the award ceremony, there will be an exhibition which will highlight what’s new in Accra and give sponsors the opportunity to showcase their new products, creating a platform for them to incorporate what’s new in the market into the networking experience.
