Kwakwaduam Association of NY donates

The Kwakwaduam Association of NY donates to the Mamfe Midwifery Clinic

The Kwakwaduam Association Inc. of New York has donated medical supplies valued about $6,000 US dollars to the Mamfe Akwapim Midwifery Clinic to support the midwifery services at the clinic and to facilitate their work. The items donated included glucometers, chemstrips, gloves, gauze, under garments, EDC calculators and delivery units among others.
In receiving the items Ms. Christiana Mensah, the Midwife in charge of the Clinic expressed extreme gratitude to Kwakwaduam Association Inc. and said the items will go a long way in improving the quality of service provided to patients. She said the midwifery services at the clinic have grown steadily and that the clinic does about 20 deliveries per month. She said through the excellent services at the clinic maternal morbidity is minimal.
Present at the function were representatives of the Manfehene, Nana Ansa Sasraku and the Manfehemmea, Nana Ama Ansaa. The Engresihene of Mamfe speaking their behalf thanked Kwakwaduam on their foresight and requested if Kwakwaduam could help the clinic register as participant of the NHIS. On his part Ankobea Nana Kwaku Duah said he was very impressed by the activity of Kwakwaduam and asked other organizations to emulate the role Kwakwaduam plays in community development
Nana Yaa Boahema I, Obeapanying of Kwakwaduam Association Inc. on her part indicated her hope that the items will be put to use for the advantage of the patients and that women in general will feel empowered in their roles in community development. Nana Yaa Boahema was indeed the one who presented the Project Proposal to Kwakwaduam for consideration and approval.
Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo, President of Kwakwaduam Association Inc. in his remarks reiterated the commitment of the Organization to community development and pledged continued logistic for the clinic and to solicit Kwakwaduam in assisting the Clinic register with the NHIS
