The Juaben Circuit Court, has remanded a 43-year-old driver into prison custody for defrauding a lady at Krapa, near Ejisu.

Kwame Asumadu, who pleaded guilty to the charge would re-appear in Court on the next adjourned date, May 17, for sentence.

Police Inspector Victoria Mensah, told the Court presided over by Mr Yusif Osei Asibey, that both the accused and the complainant, were residents of Krapa in the Ejisu Municipality.

She said last year, the accused sold a plot of land to the complainant at the cost of GH? 14,000.00 and provided documents to it. Inspector Mensah said when the complainant started to develop the land, another person came in to claim ownership.

She said upon investigations from many witnesses, it was detected that Asumadu was not the true owner of the land and the documents he presented were fake.

The prosecution said numerous attempts by the complainant to recoverm her money proved futile and she reported the matter to the Ejisu police who arrested the accused and sent him to Court.
