A suspected armed robber believed to be in his thirties has been lynched by unknown persons at racecourse in the Ashanti Region.

The sad incident has left traders at racecourse market in a state of shock, after they found him pelted with blocks to death and fastened to a light pole early Wednesday morning by his assailants.

A trader at racecourse Maame Afia Boatemaa told Abusua FM’s Osei kwadwo, that the deceased attacked and robbed a woman at racecourse.

“He hacked the woman and took away her bag yesterday. The woman was rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH) in critical condition for treatment.” She said.

Maame Afia Boatemaa called on the Regional Police Commander COP Ken Yeboah to improve security situation at racecourse market.

The deceased has been deposited to KATH morgue by police officers who came to the scene.
