Woman, 51, burns grandson’s hand over theft

A 10-year-old boy is in pain after his grandmother torched his hand for allegedly stealing fish reserved for his grandfather.

The woman, Ama Adobea, 51, reportedly molested the victim at Assin-Bisidruasi in the Central Region after she noticed the fish was missing from the soup.
Seething with rage over the development, Adobea is reported to have lowered the hand of the boy into a fire.

The sad incident has left severe burns on the right hand of the victim, a situation that has affected his schooling.

Some residents who spoke to Adom News Wednesday said Adobea has the proclivity for molesting children.
They want the police to deal “ruthlessly” with her in order to serve as a deterrent to others in the community.

She needs to be taught a lesson, a resident said in Twi.
Although Ama Adobea is currently in the custody of the Assin Fosu Police, she is yet to be charged.

The Assin Fosu District Police Commander has explained they will arraign her if they conclude with investigations.
