The Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service at Agona Swedru, has arrested a self-styled pastor at Agona Abodom for having sex on a farm.
A spokesman for DOVVSU told the Ghana News Agency at Agona Swedru on Friday, that the Pastor, Emmanuel Kobina Natto, had been granted police enquiry bail whilst the docket on the case had been sent to the Attorney General’s office for advice.
Meanwhile Pastor Natto on Friday, June 8, 2012 performed customary rites at the Chief’s palace at Abodom, by slaughtering four sheep and also provided drinks to pacify the land.
Pastor Emmanuel Kobina Natto was also made to slaughter a sheep at the spot where he had the sex with a woman, who was receiving treatment at his prayer camp.
Nana Fii Kwao, Omankrado of Agona Abodom and Regent of the town, briefing the Ghana News Agency at Abodom after the rituals, said three years ago the pastor asked the woman whose name is being withheld for security reasons to accompany him to his farm at the outskirt of the town, which she obliged.
The chief said whiles on the farm, the pastor convinced the woman who was recovering from her illness to have sex with him even though she was married with children.
The Chief said after the affair, the health of the woman, who kept her ordeal to herself, started deteriorating despite several attempts by the relatives to heal her.
He said the disappointed family members asked the woman to confess any wrong doing or whether she had committed any crime or evil.
Nana Kwao said after several persuasions, the woman revealed that Pastors Natto had had sex with her on his farm when they visited there some three years ago.
The Omankrado said the relatives confronted the pastor at Abodom, where he admitted the offence and was later brought to his palace.**
