Husband of three women defiles a 14-year-old girl

Kumawu (Ash), May 16, GNA - Kofi Obuor, a 28-year-old photographer whose three wives could not satisfy his sexual desires, has been granted a 20 million-cedi bail by the Kumawu circuit court for defiling a 14-year-old girl.

Obuor pleaded not guilty to the charge and will re-appear on May 25.

Police Inspector Gabriel Dzitornu, prosecuting, told the court that the victim, a primary five pupil, suddenly stopped schooling for unknown reasons.

As Yaa Durowaa, mother of the victim, tried to ascertain the cause of the girl's unexplained behaviour, Adwoa Dufie, one of Obuor's wifes, hinted her that her husband was having an illicit affair with her daughter.

The prosecution said the victim's mother warned Obuor to end the affair but her warning fell on deaf ears. He said on April 24, a quarrel ensued between the victim and Adwoa Dufie during which the 14-year-old schoolgirl insulted "her rival" in public.

Adwoa Dufie reported the victim to the police and the girl's mother also reported to the police Obuor's alleged affair with her daughter. 16 May 06
