Customers of DKM Micro Finance Limited whose investments have been locked up have lambasted the General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, saying he’s hardly made coherent arguments in his public discourse.

According to the workers, the NDC Scribe, has shown gross ignorance in his latest comment on the biggest micro finance scam recorded in the country’s history.

Over 63,000 customers of DKM Microfinance are yet to retrieve their investments after the Bank of Ghana suspended the company’s operations for not abiding by regulations in the industry.

Mr Asiedu Nketia has said the educated customers whose monies have been locked have no moral right to be pressurizing government to refund their investments to them.

“The intellectuals who got themselves involved in this scandal must bow down their heads in shame, the intellectuals in Brong Ahafo, they should not be seen to be leading demonstrations and be putting blame on other people, they should bow down their heads in shame that they have misled the people who paid their school fees into this type of catastrophe. An if you want to find solution, you find solution devoid of partisan consideration and then you actually pursue the interest of the people.”

He added: “The people we are chasing for extorting monies from our people, you want us to glorify them…you want the people whose monies have been taken by these people to know go and vote for them with the promise that, I’ve taken this paper from you…vote for me and let me return it.This is the worst kind of scandal that could happen to anybody in this country.”

But speaking to Kasapa News, the Spokesperson of the aggrieved DKM customers, Maxwell Mahama stated that he’s had to restrain himself from descending very low to the level of Asiedu Nketia.

He said he finds it difficult to understand why the NDC Secretary will be making such reckless comments when he’s not fully abreast with the facts of the matter.

“Asiedu Nketia wouldn’t have insulted customers of DKM if he knew some of the high ranking people whose monies have been unfortunately locked. Teachers, Nurses and top police and military officers, educated chiefs also have their investments locked, even a member of the Council of State has as much as GHC 300,000 lodged with DKM, so is he saying this person has no brains to have invested such monies with DKM? We beg of him, he should let his utterances be seasoned with salt. He’s an elderly person and he shouldn’t provoke us t attack him.”
