Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), the world’s leading brewer, has rewarded Ms Madina Salihu of the University of Ghana’s (UG) Food Process Engineering Department for emerging as the Department’s best graduating student for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Ms Salihu, during a graduation ceremony held at the University of Ghana’s Great Hall, received a brand new laptop, GHC 5,000.00 and an eight-week internship opportunity with ABL for her excellence.

Ms Adwoa Aaba Arthur, ABL’s Legal & Corporate Affairs Director, congratulated Ms. Salihu for her academic achievement, saying, “We have been supporting the Department and its best graduating students since 2007 as part of our investment in a growing world where everyone has the opportunity to improve their livelihood”.

Ms Arthur further added that “when an exemplary student such as Ms. Salihu has worked hard to achieve her dream of success, it will propel her to greater heights and this clearly validates our own dream to bring people together for a better world”.

Ms Salihu expressed her delight and sincere gratitude towards ABL’s for recognizing her with the reward package.

Ms Salihu stated that “I am looking forward to my internship program with ABL, where I will be able to practise the theory I have learnt in order to perfect my skill. Also, I have heard a lot of great success stories from my predecessors who passed through this program and these individuals have become invaluable members of the industry. They have contributed immensely to improving the quality of food and it is my hope to join in their ranks”.

To further realise its dream of bringing people together for a better world, ABL also invests in a ‘Cleaner World’ where the natural resources are shared and preserved for the future; and in a ‘Healthier World’ where every experience with beer is positive.
