Government irresponsible action
Oh Ghana, our water bodies and forests were destroy due to government failure to simplify and regularised this sector by establishing district mining committee as our policies mandate to monitor this sector causing sporadic illegalities. This we must blame our governance system and not the miners. Now this current ministry is trending the same Line With this lengthy ban which will eventually lead to illegalities(law of natural survival) . Regularisation of this sector shouldn't take this long because the guildlines for responsible small scale mining is already in existance. Small scale mining has been in Ghana from pre- colonial era(meaning of gold coast) and emerging in the world because large scale deposits are hard to come by and must be embrace becavuse it huge economy benefit for millions remain in the country better than 10% from the large scale . Fellow Ghanaian who have chosen to see negative aspect of small scale mining should learn about this sector and get understanding before posting assumptive comments-be proud and own few gram of Ghanaian gold.
