Kenpong secures MRO license

Kenpong Aircraft  Maintenance Ghana  Limited (KAMGL), a subsidiary of the Kenpong Group has secured a Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) license and a Hangar at the Tamale Airport, sources at the Tamale Airport has disclosed.

And per the agreement, KAMGL has been officially mandated to repair and maintain Jets, Helicopters, Boeing and Commercial Flights beginning February next year (2018).

Securing the  Maintenance  Repair Overhaul (MRO) License makes KAMGL the first company in West Africa with such documentation to serve the Sub-Region.

The source added that news of the Repair Center has excited residents of Tamale since it has the huge potential of providing employment opportunity for the youth.

It has also emerged that officials of KAMGL including boxing legend, Azumah Nelson together with its foreign partners have been working diligently on the quiet for over a year  now for the license acquisition.

Attempts to reach Group Chairman of Kenpong, Mr Kennedy Agyepong, as well as Tamale and Kumasi Aviation officials, proved unsuccessful.

So far, it is only Ethiopia and South Africa that have the MRO facility and Africa.
Meanwhile, the source added that Mr Agyepong has praised President Akufo-Addo and Aviation Minister , Cecilia Dapaa, profusely for their respective contributions to realisation of the project.
