So far it does not seem government has plans to protect the local industries from imported food and goods. Merely revamping industries without guaranteeing markets would lead to failure.During Kuffour's administration,state institutions were made to buy maize and rice from state sources.This policy gave the assurance of ready market for locally produced maize and rice.This policy could be extended to cover other produce and products.
Trump trumpets "America First!" but we are trembling at protecting our local producers. Honourable Minister, any response?

Distressed companies revival indeed ? Apuuu taaa. Why not use that stimulus package to start the 216 factories u promised Ghanaians? Build sardine factory at Kyebi and BENTOA factory in Accra.

Ghana needs to have UTC back on the road to offer opportunities to those in the cities. We have a vacant building looking dilapidated when it shouldn't have been this way. Come to John Lewis in London and still looking great ... read full comment
