Please stop talking about this and act boldly and decisively because of the disaster that is stirring on our nation. The impending catastrophy awaiting our nation will be worse than what is facing the drought stricken nations of Sub-Saharan Africa. These Chiefs giving out lands for galamsey are enemies of state. They don't care what happens to their people as long as they get their 'useless' money, which they misuse anyway. Government should state, that with immediate effect, all small scale mining should cease for proper regularisation. We are facing life and death situation. Bold action is now. We send our soldiers to fight to maintain peace elsewhere and to secure the security of Ghana. They need to be deployed to all these areas of galamset, now. Our water bodies are destroyed and politicians sit in Accra thinking the issue is not as precarious as it is made to sound. I am a member of the NPP and would advice the party machinery to be activated to put pressure on the executive branch of government to act decisively now.

Do you people remember what the Okyehene and Akyems said when former president Mahama took interest and went on an aerial survey of those areas and said that Kyebi had become the capital of galamsey of the country, and that something needed to be done urgently and drastically about it? They lambasted him, called him names, and even the Okyehene and his people demanded retraction and apology from him.. It even escalated to the extent that the Okyehene received the president coldly and made disrespectful statements when Mahama visited the area. Now they are crying, seeing the devastation their own activities and political blindness have wrought. God has a way of answering idiocy and hatred, and this should be a lesson for all of us. Nobody should therefore drag the former president into this self-inflicted catastrophe that threatens the future of Okyeman and surrounding areas. This also goes for the galamsey areas of the Ashanti, Central and Western regions where politicians and chiefs are actively engaged in, or conniving with nation-wreckers in the galamsey activities. Go and ask the NPP's Sam Pyne and Chairman Wontumi how they get the money that enables them make noise on political platforms!!!
