I believe when they come to power, they will paint a very bad picture of the economy and ask Ghanaians eight years to fix it. They will create avenues to loot. There are many kleptomaniacs among them.

What is per capita income when people were carrying Kufour gallons around Accra looking for water. Areas like Madina, Adenta, Kyebi, Teshi Nuagua areas. When pupil were sitting under trees studying.When there were inadequate hospitals. When many people in the rural areas do not have electricity. Kuffour talk of per capita water consumption, per capita of electricity usage or consumption etc. Per capita income is useless when citizens do not have schools, water, electricity, jobs etc.

Rebasing was only a feel good exercise. More of waking up after a dream and believing it really happened. There was no additional income in the system. That in fact is the root cause of all current frustrations.

It reminds me of when INVENTORY was seen as asset, even if the inventory in the warehouse will never become liquid, but most likely to be written off.

After rebasing the Ghanaian economy in 2010 [i.e movement from 1993 constant prices to 2006 constant prices], the official figures indicated that the country became a middle income in 2007 when its per capita income first exceeded $1000 after becoming independent in 1957. Please, be careful when you want to explain issues on economics. It is technical and if your area is not economics, JUST STAY AWAY!! I just read another rubbish from the Deputy Minister of Finance from Daily Graphic.
