Mr.Effah has touched on a very important issue in the development of
Ghana's economy. It is the ROOT CAUSE of the Cedis depreciation. A well developed agric policy will go a long way to address the cronic balance of payments problem which is causing the cedis depreciation. I was waching a programme last night about the difficulties facing our farmers in the north. It looked they were fighting on their own without official support. In supermarkets in Europe there are agric produce from countries like Brazil, Malasia etc etc but not much from Ghana apart from Pona yam. Dairy farming, arable farming, in fact all aspect of farming should be looked at seriously if we are to get anywhere.
I am not surprised that there has been no comment on this important article because Ghanaians from head to toe do not understand or appreciate the link between lack of exports and the depreciation cedi.

When we have a propagandist in charge at the Ministry of Agric, what sense can we derive from our Agric sector. The man only makes the news by insulting Ghanaians and castigating people or issues that have nothing to do with his own sector. Can the Agric minister enumerate any achievements he has chalked since assuming office? The answer is no! Rather he is quick to poke his mouth into issues that have nothing to do with Agric just for cheap propaganda sake. Well quite frankly I don't blame him. I blame the equally incompetent President who appointed him to the role of Agric Minister....Mr Effah don't cast your pearls to swine....Save your ideas for when a more competent Agric Minister is appointed, ie if ever!

ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT NOT AWARE THAT THE BULK OF SO CALLED EDUCATED AGRICULTURALISTS, IDLE AT THE MMINISTRY OF FOOD AND AGERICULTURE AT THE TIME THE TWENTY TWO MILLION HECTARS OF LAND COULD BE PUT TO PRODUCTIVE USE AND TO FEED THE GROWING POPULATION IN GHANA.
WE STILL DO NOT KNOW WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING IN THE 21st CENTURY,
IT IS ONLY WHEN WE STOP THESE CONTINUED PREACHINGS AND SERMONS SHALL WE BE IN THE POSITIION TO PREAPARE THE PRESENT TO MEET THE FUTURE.
