As a Ghanaian, full of pride for KIA, I was extremely disappointed that during one of my transits through KIA (in November 2014), I was very disappointed that I had to go through immigration, collect my luggage, exit the airport and, re-enter and check-in again at departure lounge and pass through immigration again!!! This is a disgrace and should be addressed immediately, if not already done. It is only in Ghana that i experienced this and i was not impressed.

Just provide a gangway for passengers. It is terrible what passengers with children, the aged, and the disabled have to go through to board a plane. How much does it cost to have movable gangway so that passengers could walk into and from planes without having to use steep steps? Less than a week of the exorbitant taxes that passengers pay would be more than enough to pay for a couple of gangways. Gangway is critical for all travelers, especially the aged, children, and those who are physically challenged.

Truth be told, Tamale airport is being upgraded to international level for the sole and only purpose of transporting Hajj pilgrims to Mecca. This is an enormous price for the country to pay to appease a section of the population without benefiting the country. Let's be honest, 90% of the country's international travelers live in the southern and middle belt of the country. Which airline will sell international travel tickets to customers to disembark in the scorching Tamale sun, when their final destination is either Accra or Kumasi and their environs? If you think Tamale deserves an international airport, what about Sunyani, Kumasi or Takoradi? Does Tamale deserves it more because it contributes more to the national economy than these other cities? These wanton dissipation of the scarce national resources is the source of our precipitous economic decline that we are witnessing now.

Takoradi Airport is long overdue and we should demand a modern airport.

To be frank,most of us in Ghana copy things blindly.Ghana by land size in Africa is very small compared to big countries like Ethiopia,Tanzania,Nigeria ,SA,DRC etc.Most of our population is in BA,Ashanti Regions down to the South.For effective movement of people and goods , we need proper dual highways and roads to link the main parts of the country.Rehabilitate the railway sector and investigate expansion. Two international Airports,i regional airport in Accra for domestic flights ( Nigeria, Tanzania) are examples,regional airports and strips already the country as existing. Spatial planning of towns,villages along main roads due to economic activities needs to be investigated .It contributes to long travel times. How many Ghanaians can afford air travel.It is expensive.South Africa Airways, Quantas,others etc are running massive losses each year. For the time being massive proper roads will save us until the ecnmy can afford other means. Nice to have projects will not help Ghana

It is a shame that they couldn't even construct a railway stations for the region and they are talking about constructing Airports for other regions. Wait for the Delta State action in Western Region. Osafo Manfo is right because the people of Western Region are not part of the people controlling the distribution of the resources. How many members of the Airport Company board are from Western Region. That is the reason they are short changed always. Judgment day will come. I change my vote and wish all Western and Central Regions citizens will do the same. Even our own son Kwame Nkrumah did to us what else will Mahama do.

SA is a big country built by the whites and the Airport was expnaded for the Soccer World Cup,There iis a regional Airport in Johannesburg called Lanseria from which you can fly internally to most parts of the country.This relieves pressure on the main airport.Nairoi is also a regional airport hub so they need a big airport.If we want Accra to be a regional hub of which i doubt then our plans should match that. Lagos and Dakar are competing for that space.From South African Area to North America, dakar is the preferred refuelling stop.Need analysis before decisions.
