After close to a decade without a traditional leader, the Worabeba Traditional Area has finally installed Chief Kwaw Abowie II as the chief of the area.

The induction

The installation was preceded by pouring of libation by an elder of the council, Kwesi Ephraim.

The event was mainly in three stages: the swearing of oath by the Chief, swearing of oath by the developmental queen mother and the Oman Secretary as well. The occasion was climaxed with the playing of the traditional obonu (talking drum) amid merrymaking.

Speaking after the ceremony, Chief Kwaw Abowie II, urged the people of the town to forge ahead in unity in order to develop the area.

He appealed to parents to attach great importance to the education of their children and promised to boost the Educational Fund in the area to enable many brilliant and needy students to get access to quality education.

Commendation

The developmental queen mother, Doctor Nash congratulated the new chief and his elders on their installation.

She implored them to focus on developing the area and cautioned them to be careful when dealing with land issues.

She entreated the chief and his entourage to defend the land at the cost of their lives.

The new Chief pledged to defend the stool and appealed to the kingmakers to guide him in uplifting the Worabeba township in the interest of the land and Ghana at large.

He promised to provide leadership for the people and outdoor a five-year development plan to address the infrastructural challenges of the area.
