The Akufo-Addo led government can continue to blame the erstwhile Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for siphoning billions of cedis from the Ghana Cocoa Board’s accounts indicating that the claims are untrue.

“They can continue to blame us but the claims are baseless”, Finance Minister in the previous administration, Mr. Seth Terpker said.

According to him, officials of the previous NDC administration under which he served as Finance Minister did nothing like syphoning monies from the accounts of the Ghana Cocoa Board as officials of this administration want Ghanaians to believe.

The current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo has accused John Mahama administration of withdrawing US$400m out of the $1.8 billion cocoa syndicated loan for the 2016/2017 crop season, after losing the 7th December 2016 elections.

Speaking to the allegations on Starr Morning, the former Minister of Finance said, the government can continue to make those allegations against them even without evidence.

He explained that COCOBOD Trust Fund manages its own affairs and therefore any government cannot be blamed for the Trust’s actions or inactions.
