Chairman of the Federation of Muslims Council, Alhaji Showumni Abdulai Williamsi has asked for the return of Former President, John Dramani Mahama as he claims the country is in shambles under the current NPP administration.

Speaking during an interaction between members of the Federation and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Williamsi faulted Mr. Mahama for not doing enough to ensure his administration retained the seat in government.

“Unfortunately, you lost and the loss has brought hardship to Ghana today, maybe I can partly blame you. Mr. President at the time, you were the commander in Chief of the Armed forces and you had all the power to check some people who came lawlessly into the country to train for atrocities which has led us to this situation,” he said.

It is time he made greater efforts to ensure he returns to power to ‘correct the mistakes’ he left behind, according to the Muslim leader.

“We are starving, our people are dying and we pray that you come back and rescue us.”

He is of the conviction that Mr. Mahama’s return to the presidency will restore the ‘lost treasures’ of Ghanaians, including the Muslim community.

“We have confidence in your administration,” he said, continuing,

“It is my prayer and hope that this time, we will vote you into power by God’s grace because we are all witnesses to what is happening. We know who has done well and who has not done well….This time, we hope that you look very sharp.”
