Samira Bawumia, wife of the vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged the electorate to vote for the party on December 7 due to its track record in government.

She indicated that the NPP was committed to transforming Ghana to improve the lives of the citizens.

Mrs Bawumia therefore called on Ghanaians to reject politics of lies and propaganda by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and vote for the NPP and its flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to improve their lives.

She noted that the selection of her husband, Dr Bawumia to partner Nana Akufo-Addo showed the enormous respect that the NPP has for Muslims in the country.

Mrs Bawumia made the disclosure while interacting with members of the Muslim community at Prestea and Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency of the Western Region as part of her three-day campaign tour of the region.

She told the people that NPP would ensure prosperity, fair distribution of wealth and sustained development.

She accused the NDC and its functionaries of amassing wealth to the detriment of ordinary Ghanaians.

Samira said the next NPP administration would revamp all the laudable social interventions that are currently collapsing under the NDC, which has mismanaged the country’s economy.

She called on the Muslims to ensure peace before, during and after the December elections to promote development in their respective areas.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for the Prestea Huni Valley Constituency Babara Oteng said that since the NDC assumed office, development in the area has come to a standstill.

She condemned the vote buying strategy of the NDC, adding that the Ghanaians are alert and would reject the incessant propaganda.

She pledged to serve the interests of all the constituents in Parliament irrespective of religion, party or tribe.

Ms Oteng disclosed that the visit of the wife of the NPP’s running mate to the area would enhance the healthy relationship between the NPP and the Zongo communities.

Mrs Bawumia and her entourage also visited the Muslim communities at Kwesimintsim, Effia, Sekondi and Essikado Ketan.
