Raymond Archer’s $10m business blocked a billion-dollar investment – Trade Fair Board Chair

Board Chairman of the Ghana International Trade Fair Company, Mr Daniel McKorley Board Chairman of the Ghana International Trade Fair Company, Mr Daniel McKorley

The Board Chairman of the Ghana International Trade Fair Company, Mr Daniel McKorley, has revealed that Mr Raymond Archer, the owner of the $10-million printing press was blocking a billion-dollar investment from South Africa that was to take place within the trade fair.

Mr Archer’s company, Colour Planet Limited, was recently demolished along with 20 other companies within the Trade Fair enclave by the Ghana Trade Fair Company.

Mr Archer said the downing of his company was politically motivated.

But Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana on Tuesday, February 18, Mr McKorley, who is also CEO of Mac Dan Shipping Company Limited explained that apart from Mr Archer’s business located on an unauthorized location, “(his) investment stalled a billion-dollar investment.

“Should we stay in a country whereby a 10-million dollar is stalling a billion-dollar because when he is touched politics will be read into it.

“I am a businessman and I am coming from different background; I don’t play politics but I was sent there to build that trade fair.

“We have got many investors and the first thing that flushes at their face is that there is litigation in the Trade Fair.

“We have got the biggest shopping mall in the world from South Africa that has signed on to come in. We have to build the convention Centre capacity bigger than what is in Kigali. Silicon Valley is also going to come here.”

“Just imagine having the convention centre built with international conferences coming on here.”
