Portuguese national airline to begin scheduled flights to Accra

he national carrier of Portugal, TAP Portugal, is promising its prospective passengers premium services as it begins its scheduled flights to Accra from 2nd July.

The airline which secured approval earlier this year plans to fly four times a week between Lisbon and Accra.

Speaking to Joy Business from its base in Lisbon, Communication and Public Relations Officer, Andre De Serpa Soares, said those who will fly with the airline stand to enjoy competitive fares and excellent service.

Mr. Soares said its global expansion drive and Ghana’s political stability influenced its move to fly to Accra.

TAP Portugal will be the first to begin scheduled flights to Accra among the airlines which recently secured approval to fly to Ghana.

They include, Air Iberia and Span Air, all Spanish airlines. TAP Portugal’s entry would push the number of airlines operating in the country to 31.

The number could however shoot up to 40 as China Eastern Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air Canada, Fly 540 and Fison are scheduled to begin operations before the close of the year.
