No SSNIT biometric registration, no salary - Deputy Finance Minister

Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Kwaku Kwarteng, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Kwaku Kwarteng,

Government has asked all legitimate government workers who have not gone through the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) biometric registration to do so before their salaries will be released to them.

A statement signed by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Kwaku Kwarteng, said workers who go through the registration before 3rd May, 2017 will be paid by 15th May, 2017.

It said the new directive follows concerns raised by some stakeholders on the suspension of salaries of workers who had not gone through SSNIT biometric registration.

“Those who have gone through the SSNIT biometric registration but have been mistakenly blocked can be assured that by the same 15th May, 2017 their salaries will be released to them upon resolution of the errors,” the statement said.

“Government is grateful to all stakeholders for their support in assisting government to clean the pay roll and to make savings for investment into the lives of the citizenry,” it added.
