NDC 'babies with sharp teeth’ at war; takeover internal fight

NDC Executives NDC Executives

There are no indications that the internal fighting within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will end anytime soon as supporters for the feuding factions have taken entrenched stance and throwing tantrums at each other.

On Wednesday, a staunch supporter of the Rawlings’, Dela Coffie, launched a scathing attack on the former Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, describing her with unprintable adjectives for her latest article heaping corruption allegations on the Rawlingses.

Mr Dela Coffie, who was an active member of the defunct Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR), was not charitable in his choice of words and also reminding her that his father and former Minister of Education, Harry Sawyerr was brought into the political limelight by the person she is castigating.

The abuses on Dr Valarie Sawyerr have gone down well with some supporters who have hailed her and insist that Rawlings deserved all the insults because he has gained notoriety in disgracing the party at the least opportunity.

It has literally become a war of words on social media involving factions for and against some of the leading members of the party about the current rancor in the party.

Meanwhile, a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu-Juaben has said the outburst of the Deputy Chief of Staff has exposed the timidity of the men in the party.

On Accra-based Okay FM, he observed that the utterances of the former President were gravely affecting the party yet no man had the courage to confront the issue head-on until Dr Valerie Sawyer came to their rescue.

“She has proven to be brave and courageous. I will want to plead with traditional authorities in Ejisu and Asanteman to allow me confer on her the title of modern day Yaa Asantewaa. She has done a great job and I will want to use your platform to congratulate her”
