Lawyer calls out BoG for banking crisis

A Private Legal Practitioner has added her voice to the assertion that the Bank of Ghana cannot be absolved of blame following the collapse of seven indigenous banks.

Speaking at a forum organised by the Danquah Institute to discuss the banking crisis, Clara Kasser-Tee noted that the regulator (BoG) itself needs some scrutiny to put them on its toes.

“This is a regulated industry…in this particular case the main regulator being the BoG. So while resolving this, what I want to see is the steps within the BoG,” she said.

If the BoG was doing its work well, we wouldn’t arrived at where we are,” she added.
