Founder of the Salt and Light Ministries, Rev. Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee has called on Ghanaians to assist the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in making Accra the cleanest city worldwide by supporting the ‘Adopt a Bin’ campaign.

Rev. Aryee appealed to the general public to desist from recalcitrant practices which would act as hindrances to the progress of the AMA so far as sanitation is concerned.

Addressing the media at the launch of the ‘Adopt a Bin’ campaign, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee advised that Ghanaians should make positive efforts to promote proper sanitation in the country by exercising good personal and communal hygiene.

“This campaign will contribute to eliminating filth in our country and we call on everyone, every responsible Ghanaian, every well-meaning Ghanaian to be a part of this programme to support the national project of keeping Ghana (clean) and making Accra the cleanest city in the whole wide world. We are making an appeal to the public and the appeal is that in order to make the ‘Adopt the Bin’ campaign successful, we need to think of disposing trash properly in allocated bins. Avoid stealing or defacing the bins. Stop dumping household trash in public bins”, she pleaded.

She noted that it is the responsibility of every citizen to ensure that Ghana witnesses a positive transformation in sanitary conditions.

The ‘Adopt a Bin’ campaign is a sanitation-driven initiative championed by the One Ghana Movement in conjunction with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to deploy public waste bins on the streets of Accra for citizens to have access to dispose of handy refuse properly.
