Account for NDC’s ‘loot and share’ not debates – Hamid tells Mahama

Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson for the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo has advised the president to concentrate on accounting for his stewardship to the citizenry and stop calling for debates.

He indicates that the president is rather mandated to explain to the country about the wanton looting that is ongoing in the country involving his appointees than make the NPP presidential nominee his target for a debate.

Speaking on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, Mustapha Hamid maintained that Nana Addo is not prepared to engage in any fruitless debate with the president and advised him to look elsewhere for a debate if he is much interested in one.

“He should account for the monies stolen from the state coffers being proceeds of our natural resources like cocoa, gold, bauxite and other natural resources than this his flip flop calls for a one-one-one debate”, he disclosed.

Mr Hamid stated “the IEA said that they had a timetable for presidential debates. He said that he was not interested in that so at what point did he realise that debates are suddenly interesting. So this is hypocritical, it is not sincere.”

According to him, the NPP is currently fired up on its tour of the Ashanti Region and is optimistic of achieving its 80% votes target which is its priority and sees the calls by President John Dramani Mahama as misplaced and needless.
