Game Boy to face Robles in US June 22

Emmanuel Tagoe’s world title ambitions receives a huge boost with boxer set to fight in the United States of America for the first time on June 22 when he takes on Gerardo Robles in a non-title fight at the Barclays Sports Centre in New York.

Tagoe, the WBA Intercontinental Junior Lightweight champion has sworn to become world champion and with the full support of his management, BabyJet Promotions, the journey to fight in America is the first step towards world championship glory for the boxer nicknamed Game Boy.

Accordingly, BabyJet Promotions, owned and headed by national football team captain, Asamoah Gyan are set to make history by staging the Tagoe-Robles bout on their own promotions in the US in partnership with Nelson Promotions.

BabyJet Promotions which sealed a 3-year management and promotion deal with Tagoe at the beginning of this year, have already overseen the crafty boxer beat Filipino Ronald Pontillas back on April 26 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We have confidence in Game Boy and we believe he will soon be world champion. We pledge our unflinching support for him in the quest and taking him to the USA which is the Mecca of boxing is a step in the right direction,” Baffour Gyan, Manager / Agent of Tagoe told www.sportsinghana.com in an exclusive interview.
