Dear Sir,
Our attention has been drawn to a letter purported to be written by Mr. Erasmus Adorkor the Sports development officer of the National Sports Authority inviting the Ghana Boxing Board and other self acclaimed stakeholders to a meeting on Tuesday 17 July, 2012 at the Media centre of Accra Sports Stadium without the professional boxers association and other recognized stakeholders.
In line the new Sports Regulations law, L.I 1988 and pursuant to the congress announced by the Ghana Boxing Authority, we the professional boxers of Ghana have congregated into association so that we can fully involve and participate in the process.
By this letter we are informing all and sundry that the Ghana Boxing Authority should be allow actualize the roadmap to Congress as announce to all stakeholders. We will caution that any attempt to impose and direct the Authority from outside will be resisted at all cost.
We seem not happy with the agenda for the meeting, if there are complains leveled against the Authority, The National Sports Authority must first and foremost discuss with the board before the general meeting of all stakeholders.
We expect the National Sports Authority to be fair in all instances; by their action of omission and commission it is clear that they are seeking to undermine the Authority of the present administration.
Kindly be informed that under the G.B.A licensees, we have the following stakeholders
1. Professional boxers association
2. United boxing coaches association
3. Boxing Promoters and Managers Association
4. Matchmakers / Agent Association
5. Old Boxers Association
6. Regional Representatives
With these in mind, we hope it will reflect in your thinking and decision making about the Ghana Boxing Authority and you will fair at all times.
