Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey has emerged as a major doubt for Fortuna Dusseldorf when they resume the German Bundesliga campaign against SC Paderborn 07 after picking an injury.

The Red and White outfit are training vigorously ahead of the resumption of the season.

On Monday, coach Uwe Rösler reviewed the form of his players in an eleven-against-eleven training game.

But there was no sign of Bernard Tekpetey and Dawid Kownacki who are reported to have missed the session through injuries.

However, all the other registered players including Tekpetey's compatriots Kasim Nuhu, Nana Opoku Ampomah and Kelvin Ofori were present and took part in the training match.

It remains to be seen whether Tekpetey and Kownacki will recover in time for the Saturday's match against fellow strugglers SC Paderborn 07 at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.

Tekpetey is yet to get off the mark for the side since joining on a two-year loan deal from Schalke 04 last summer.

He has provided one assist in nine league games.

The German Bundesliga will be the first top European league to restart matches since the outbreak of the coronavirus forced lockdown measures to be imposed across the continent.

Matches will be played behind closed doors and with a maximum number of 300 people, including both teams, allowed at each game.
