Chief Executive Officer of Simba SC, Senzo Mazingisa has disclosed that discussions with former Asante Kotoko forward Songné Yacouba has been put on hold due to lack of transparency from the player's camp.

Yacouba was a key player for Asante Kotoko after joining them from Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou in 2018.

But the player has now become a free agent after failing to extend his contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

Reports went viral that the 28-year-old is heading to Tanzania after giants Simba SC and Yanga SC expressed interest in signing him.

According to Mazingisa, Simba SC are looking to strengthen their squad by signing four quality players.

However, Simba SC, who were the first club to make contact with Yacouba, have temporarily put negotiations on hold after they were approached by several agents claiming to be the player's only representative.

“The player has approached us with so many agents each claiming he is the only agent and that is why we have put a stop in our negotiations,” Mazingisa told Mwanaspoti.

Yacouba made seven appearances for Asante Kotoko in the 2019/20 campaign before the league was halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
