Veteran Ghanaian midfielder Gladson Awako has shared that he will rate the Ghana League over the league in Congo if he compares the kind of pitches used in the two countries.

The captain of Accra Great Olympics has spent 5 years in Congo between 2012 and 2017 where he played for African giants TP Mazembe.

Having tasted football in the two countries, he says he can say the Ghana League is better than that of Congo.

“One thing I will say is their league is not better than ours. The league over there is not better than ours here. If you see some of the pitches we played on it is so bad.

“Over here we are lucky sometimes we get better fields to play on and all that. Over there you travel and you play on a very rough field. There is not even grass field to play on. So with that our league here is so much better than the one in Congo”, Gladson Awako explained in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM on Monday.

He added, “The only thing is they always get the chance to be in the Champions League, to get to the money zone and it is only TP Mazembe and Vita Club”.
