Referees in the Ghana Premier League are seeking a meeting with the Football Association following unpaid allowances before the league was halted due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

The top hierarchy of the referees, the Referees Association of Ghana are desperately looking for possible means to meet the Ghana Football Association despite the shutdown of their offices.

The referees have only received allowances from the only four match days, despite handling games till match day 15.

Each referee receives GHC 780 after tax per game as allowance for handling men's game with the women receiving GHC 468 per match.

And with the league on break, there is uncertainty as to whether the rest of their allowances will be paid in due time.

The Ghana Premier League has been postponed until further notice to control the spread of the coronavirus which is rapidly rising in the West African nation.

Ghana has now recorded 132 confirmed cases with three deaths and just a single recovery.
