It is going to serve the country well if all these monies which are wasted on these players are channelled into something that will generate job for our teeming youth who have no job to job. Realistically speaking,black stars are no good,looking at the level of games they play. The team struggle to score goals at the international level,statistically. This team which has no name was able to hold Ghana to goalless game.

All football tournaments, including the World Cup, are called the FINALS (plural).

It's only the last game that is called the FINAL (singular).

Thus, 32 teams appear at each FINALS, "FINALS" here meaning "the TOURNAMENT ...

Thus, 32 teams appear at each FINALS, "FINALS" here meaning "the TOURNAMENT".

Why? Because, as you know, the World Cup already goes on with QUALIFIERS and eliminations before the final 32 assemble for the TOURNAMENT.

It is in the latter context that our writers said "three-time World Cup finalists" when they actually meant "three-time World Cup FINALS participants".

They're too foolish to know that their term can be confusing.
