Footballers in Ghana like some of the football oriented countries in the world are being pampered like the only child of a family who is fed with a golden spoon.Can a soldier go to war with his wife or her husband\.The answer is a big No.The souldier prepares adequately,spititually and a sence of focus to winning the battle ahead of him to bring victory,honor and dignity to the joy of his country men.One cannot celeberate victory before a war ahead of him but rather celeberate after winning.As Ghana being simmingly a religious country we cannot do away with Biblical examples of some of the greate men of the Bible like the Prophet Nehemaiah who prepared with prayer and fasting before embarking on the noble course to travel from persia to go and build the broken walls of Jerusalem.As Nehemaiah was a man of vision he was not detared by the set backs and mudslingings of Tobias and sambalat but was focussed to accomplishing his altimate duty of building the broken walls.The esence of this piece is that our gallant players must prepare their bodies, souls and spirit and forget their wives behind for only one month to go and die a little to bring the world cup once to Ghana and Africa as a whole to shut up the rest of the world that, African teams can at best,reach the quater finals.

Start selling kenkey in your vicinity and the very first day Adjoa maame saw you making good enough sales, she pitches her camp next to you by selling kenkey too from the next day. This continues till that vicinity's name changes from whatever to "kenkey line". Na so so copycats. These days everybody wants to build by a road and have some stores built in the house as a result, every house you see by the road has stores in it. We never spoke about players going to Brazil with their wives, concubines etc but as soon as it came to light that England and Nigeria has done it, Ghanaians started singing the same chorus. While you are on the field playing, you are thinking what might be happening to her, unless you carry her with you everywhere.. Our priority is football, not family, period. If we allow footballers to take their wives, then the same privilege shd be given to soldier men going on a short duty outside of Ghana. The law of precedence will apply to every personality on assignment outside Ghana. When I watch the Blackstars, I want to see Essien, Muntary, Kojo A, Baby Jet, etc..not their spouces. Just imagine a player scores a goal and runs to the touchline to go and wave at or blow a kiss at his wife etc, etc.. there is no stopping what these players and their wives could do in camp to destroy the very winning mentality they need to do the job. I call on all Ghanaians to reject this move until it has been properly discussed and all fears allayed. Let us wait and see how it works out for the Nigerians who are already doing it.
