Ghana winger Christian Atsu has no fears about the Black Stars missing out on next year's Africa Cup of Nations despite losing to Kenya in the qualifiers on Saturday.

After a thrilling 5-0 victory over Ethiopia on matchday one, Kwesi Appiah's outfit suffered a setback on matchday two by a 1-0 away defeat to the Harambee Stars.

Ghana, by the result, remain on three points, same number of marks as Kenya and Sierra Leone who face bottom-placed Ethiopia in the other Group F matchday two fixture on Sunday.

"It is football, we lost the game although we had a lot of possession and created a lot of chances," Newcastle United attacker Atsu told Joy FM.

"We could have won the game but this is football.

"We just have to focus on the next game which is the most important thing to do now.

"There is nothing to be afraid of. For sure Ghana will qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon."

For their next assignment, Ghana play Sierra Leone in a double-header next month.

The Black Stars must finish among the top two to book a place in Cameroon.
