We will make a positive impact in Africa - Nii Adjei

Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Agyei is hopeful of his side's chances of making a huge impact in Africa this season.

Kotoko will begin their Africa campaign this Saturday with an away game to Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks FC.

After months of preparations which included training tours of the regions and playing of both local and international friendly matches, Nii Adjei believes they are ready to make a positive impact in the CAF Confederation Cup.

'I'm optimistic we will get closer to the (CAF Confederations Cup) trophy, we are in good shape and we have the confidence to play," he said

Nii Adjei is well known on the continent after helping Congolese champions TP Mazembe to win two Confederations Cup and a Champions League trophy.

He adds that "I won two CAF Confederations Cup trophies and a Champions league trophy at TP Mezembe and I want to do same now at Kotoko'.

Asante Kotoko are set to leave Accra for Kenya on Tuesday for the game on Saturday at the Kasarani Stadium.
