Transport Ministry lucrative – Nyantakyi

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has said it costs more to construct an overpass in Ghana than in New York because Ghanaians inflate prices.

The GFA boss said this to an agent of private investigative company, Tiger Eye PI, who posed as an investor and potential sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.

Mr Nyantakyi was captured with a hidden camera as seen in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s investigative piece titled: ‘Number 12: When Misconduct & Greed Become The Norm, telling the investor how lucrative Ghana’s transport sector was, in an attempt to lure him to consider investing in that area.

He told the supposed investor: “An overpass in Ghana is expensive than an overpass in New York. In Ghana, the Minister of Roads is a close friend of the president’s because that ministry is very lucrative. One overpass, they inflate it. An overpass in New York will cost $90million, in Ghana, it will cost $150million.”

Mr Nyantakyi is currently under investigation for his alleged corrupt practices.
