Totobi Quakyi Backs President Mahama

Former Minister of Information and National Security capo Kofi Totobi Quakyi believes that sometimes it is appropriate to send a signal to serial abusers from the NPP that they do not have a monopoly over insults and that enough is enough. To this extent he finds President Mahama's comment about "useless insults" very understandable.
Speaking to the Daily Post, Mr. Quakyi said President Mahama is always measured in his utterances and his recent statement even bore the mark of a person speaking with restraint.
The former Minister declared that it is time to speak wisdom into the ears of those who have reduced politics to insults and what he termed "condescending bigotry." "There is nothing wrong making your point forcibly but there is also something called decency in national discourse" he pointed out.
Mr Quakyi said from his Christian perspective, he finds it odd that some people spend Monday to Saturday raising unnecessary tension in the country, pouring invectives and unprintable insults on the President and political opponents yet these same people join their churches on Sundays to pray for peace in the nation. "Obviously, these people treat the aspect of praying for peace in this nation as a mere liturgical exercise. The command of God that we should pray for peace for our nation and our leaders does not resonate with them" declared Mr. Quakyi.
Mr. Quakyi who chairs the NDC Communication Committee believes the Government communication strategy should continue to focus on the impressive infrastructure development and transformational agenda of President Mahama and indeed the NDC since assuming office in 2009. "In 2016, the NPP will again realize that the recourse to insults and degrading language does not win elections.
