Sylvester Asare Owusu to head Manhyia's ad hoc committee on Kotoko

Former Asante Kotoko chairman, Sylvester Asare Owusu, is to head the committee tasked to investigate the administrative malaises at the club, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

This was after Manhyia Palace announced on Wednesday that Executive Chairman Dr.Kyei has submitted his report after the end of his three-year tenure.

Owusu, who was installed chief of Bantama in 2016 under the stool name Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, will head the committee who have four weeks to submit a report and advise Manhyia on the way forward.

A statement signed by the Chief of Staff of Asantehene, Kofi Badu, said the committee has been tasked to :

Investigate all the circumstances surrounding Asante Kotoko Sporting Club's transactions with the Tunisian club Esperance which resulted in the FIFA ruling and subsequent transfer of another Asante Kotoko SC player to the club.

Investigate the failure of Asante Kotoko SC to meet its regulatory obligation for the Premier League license.

Nana Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI is regarded as one of the most successful after winning the Ghana Premier League in 2003 after a ten-year trophy less run.

He returned to the Porcupine Warriors again in 2007 as chairman of the club and steer them to win another league triumph in the 2007-08 season.

In 2009, he was handed a five-year ban from all football activities after a committee being found guilty for his role in a the Kumasi Stadium Disaster which claimed the lives of four fans.
